Lustfall is switching to Subscribe Star! Patreon is DEAD!
Due to "verification" issues and Patreon's general hostility towards Adult creators, I'm pulling the plug and switching to Subscribe Star completely.
I've been running both in parallel for well over a year now, so if you are interested in switching or signing up for the first time, the change will be pretty easy to get used to.
Subscribing not only helps support the development of Lustfall (Free) and potential new big projects once Lustfall is complete, it also helps support the development of games like Hanaja's Body 2 in One and Damsels of Vice 2: Project Mesmer!
There's no obligation to subscribe or transfer your subscription from Patreon itself, but if you do want to support ongoing development of bigger and better projects, Subscribe Star is the place to do so, and Patreon is no longer supported. Anyone who signs up or transfers from now until the end of the month will get a FREE MONTH EXTENSION to whichever tier they signed up for! If you've signed up on or after July 1st, you've already been given the extension.
It sucks that it has to come to this, but I think we all saw the writing on the wall. Even if I played ball, they could easily find a reason (or invent one) to ban me or any other Adult creator. When they decided to "crack down", we knew that the Lustfall Patreon was on borrowed time.

What does this mean for the mighty Patron Man?! Well, it will be a LOT of effort to change him, so I only want to do it once. That means that it will happen in the final update. He will don a new color, and perhaps a new name ("Patron" still technically works in this context, but I chose Patron because it was close to Patreon so I might want to change it). When the time comes, the Patreon URLS will be swapped, but everything else will stay the same.
I'm also leaving the Patreon up to preserve the ".../lustfall" name. There's too much to change in all of the different builds of all of the past games, not just Lustfall, so I don't want a malicious person or bad actor to swipe it and mislead people. That being said, Patreon might just Thanos snap it entirely, so who knows what is going to happen.
Regardless of whether you transfer your sub, you sub for the first time, or you're just a lurker who's keeping an eye on the game, I appreciate your support and hope to see you on the Star! The final Update is the BIG finale, so I appreciate the patience. Making several dungeons while trying to juggle a big new game (and now the Patreon drama) is quite the challenge! <3

Small idea: if you do choose to change patreon man's name, what about star man? Or Light Star? Sounds superhero-ish. I'm sorry patreon sucks to adult creators tho

i know this is a sore subject but im currious about the verification bs they are pulling in more detal. anyplace i can go to learn more? as for patreon man... sucks you gotta go thru so much rework. hope you got an extra large jack daniels ready.

So, in order to "verify" as a NSFW creator, Patreon wants me to submit a webcam selfie with a Driver's License or Social Security Card. Now, this information, as creepy as having to take a selfie with personal data is, doesn't go to Patreon. This gets sent to a third-party company called Jumio (which you have to agree to all of their Terms & Conditions on top of everything else). Jumio is infamous for their misuse of data and have faced many lawsuits in the past (like this one that I sent to their support.).
All of that aside, I am a registered LLC operating the US and have been for years. By law, that should verify me. Additionally, Patreon already has all of the information they need for tax purposes anyways. This extra "verification" is unnecessary and the only thing I can think of is that Jumio is paying Patreon a pretty penny for info on their users, which is why their so insistent on forcing it.
So in the end, they won't allow me to withdraw the money they take from my fans anymore, so I'm forced to leave.
thats beyond creapy, thats malicious naked greed. your thought process makes sense to me, this smacks of biometrics data harvisting! ,,, dumb question thought about talking to a lawyer when they are off the job about this? no way this is completely legal. even then some brits may be able to force some sanity back thanks to their privacy laws. best way to counter this i think is to talk about it so thanks for telling me.
I've been considering digging up the number of the law firm that represents me and giving them a call. I doubt there's any action they can take, but if they are willing to work on contingency (they only get paid if I win the case), then it's worth talking to them about the whole thing.

Wait that’s extremely wild on Patreon's part. You're an LLC so why would the need your personal verification instead of your corporate paperwork? I didn’t know they were that bad.
Yea, they didn't care. They really wanted to sell my data I guess. It's a shame, especially since I'm feeling the hurt this month, but overall I think it was for the best to move on. Patreon made a hard-right turn against Adult content very suddenly, and its stance is not going to get any better, only worse.
Now that I'm just posting that stuff on Subscribe Star, I can freely write about things how I want without censorship worries. It's quite rejuvenating.
Hopefully everyone will be able to make the switch. You deserve the support.
